Privacy Policy
Short version: Shulker keeps your data on your own computer. It has no analytics, no tracking and no Shulker servers that receive information about you.
What the launcher stores on your computer
The launcher keeps its files in a folder on your computer (~/.local/share/shulker on Linux, %APPDATA%\shulker on Windows):
- Accounts: your Minecraft username and UUID, and for Microsoft accounts the sign-in tokens that keep you signed in. These tokens are stored in a file on your computer, so treat that folder as private.
- Profiles and settings: your profiles, Minecraft versions, mod lists and launcher settings.
- Game files: Minecraft, Java runtimes, mods, worlds, logs and the Shulker client mod's settings (
config/shulker.json).
None of this is sent to the Shulker developers. You can delete it by removing accounts in the launcher or by deleting the folder.
Who the launcher talks to
To do its job, the launcher connects directly to these services. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Microsoft, Xbox Live and Minecraft services (login.microsoftonline.com, xboxlive.com, minecraftservices.com): to sign you in, check that your account owns Minecraft: Java Edition and get your Minecraft profile. You sign in on Microsoft's own page; Shulker never sees your password. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Mojang (mojang.com, minecraft.net): to download Minecraft game files.
- Eclipse Adoptium (adoptium.net): to download the Java runtime Minecraft needs.
- Fabric and Forge (fabricmc.net, minecraftforge.net): to install mod loaders.
- Modrinth (modrinth.com): when you search for, install or update mods, including the performance pack.
- mc-heads.net: to show account avatars, using your account's public UUID.
Discord
If Discord is running, the launcher tells the Discord app on your computer what you're doing (for example "Minecraft 1.21.11 · Fabric", the server address and how long you've been playing), and Discord shows it on your profile. This happens on your computer only. You can hide the server address or turn the feature off in Settings. Discord Privacy Policy.
The in-game client
The Shulker client mod runs inside Minecraft, saves its settings locally and makes no network connections of its own.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Like most websites, the server that hosts it may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to track you and are deleted after a limited period.
Children
Shulker doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. Sign-in for younger players is subject to Microsoft's family and child-account settings.
Changes
If what Shulker does with data changes, we will update this policy and the date at the top.
